FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What type of products can you make?
We will consider quoting any heavy-fabric textile products, including outerwear. However, our expertise is in bags, backpacks, luggage, and other carrying cases.
Can you replicate a bag I already love?
If the bag is your original design, yes (or, at least maybe!). We cannot replicate a bag you purchased from another company. If you have a bag with features you love, however, we might be able to make you a new design that fits your needs.
How much does a prototype cost?
Costs vary enormously, depending on the complexity of the project. A good guideline is: the more compartments and features your project has, the more expensive it will be to create. Costs can range from $100 to $10,000, with the typical project falling in the $500-$1,500 range. We will provide you a firm quote after consultation so you know the exact price of your prototype.
Can I get more than one bag?
We usually only make one prototype to start a project. After you have approved the prototype, we are happy to offer a reduced price for additional units.
Do I need a tech pack?
No. We can work with you no matter what stage your project is in. Tech packs are not always useful because they may not apply to our manufacturing techniques. Therefore, we don’t recommend you pay for a tech pack before consulting us.
Will you sign an NDA?
We will typically sign an NDA only as part of a large contract. For a small quantity or single prototype, we will sign one if you cover the costs involved, including legal and investigative. An less expensive alternative option is to file your design with the USPTO or copyright office.
Who supplies the materials?
We will supply all materials that we usually stock. Our regular materials include Packcloth, Cordura, vinyl, webbing, YKK zippers, and more. However, if you want materials that we don’t have on hand, you will need to supply them. We will let you know if there are any materials we can’t supply before we provide a quote.
Can I get a design printed on the bag?
We do not print on bags in-house, but we can have your bag silkscreened or embroidered for you. A quantity of ten or more is usually required. You will need to supply the art in digital format. You must have the right to use any design you provide.
